QUALITY & PROCESS
Twelve steps.
Zero compromise.
Quality at V&P Vineyards isn't a checklist — it's a culture.
It starts months before the first grape is picked and continues through six family-managed inspections before a single box leaves our farm.

CHAPTER ONE
Before the harvest.
World-class grapes aren't made at picking. They're made in the months of planning, preparation, and precision. This is where the season is won or lost.
1
Strategy & Seasonal Planning
PRE-SEASON - MANAGEMENT
World-class grapes aren't made at picking. They're made in the months of planning, preparation, and precision. This is where the season is won or lost.
2
Dormant-Season Vine Preparation
WINTER - VINEYARDS
Get your pruning right before budburst. Pruning decisions determine your crop load for the entire season. We balance vine vigour against target bunch numbers so we're not chasing problems all year. Four generations of pruning knowledge guides every cut.
3
Soil Health & Nutrition Planning
PRE SEASON - AGRONOMY
Before growth kicks off, we know our soil. Partnering with the best agronomists in the region we ensure tissue and soil testing drives a tailored fertigation program — not guesswork. Key nutrients are dialled in early to ensure the best possible conditions for berry development.
4
Canopy Management
GROWING SEASON - VINEYARDS
Shoot thinning, leaf pulling, and tipping at the right growth stages ensure even light penetration and airflow. This directly impacts berry colour, sugar accumulation, and disease pressure. A well-managed canopy is the difference between commercial fruit and premium fruit.
5
Precision Water Management
GROWING SEASON - IRRIGATION
Water is one of the most critical inputs in growing premium table grapes — and one of the easiest to get wrong. The right amount at the right time controls berry size, concentrates flavour, and improves skin finish. We manage water with the precision it demands.
6
Data-Driven Harvest Timing
PRE HARVEST - QUALITY
Brix, acidity, and firmness are tracked systematically as we approach pick. We harvest at the intersection of peak eating quality and postharvest durability. The best fruit is picked cool, handled gently, and cold-chained immediately. No exceptions.

CHAPTER TWO
The Six-Point Inspection
Every checkpoint is managed by the family — because when your name is on the box, you don't leave quality to chance. The Molluso family oversees every step to ensure nothing less than the best leaves V&P Vineyards.
1
Vine-Side Inspection
Under the family's direct supervision, our trained pickers hand-inspect each bunch before it is picked. If it doesn't meet the standard, it stays on the vine.
PASS TO PROCEED - REJECT STAYS ON THE VINE
2
Supervisor Verification
Our family-appointed supervisor undertakes a second inspection — verifying grapes meet the picking criteria set by the family for that variety, that day, that block.
PASS TO PROCEED - NON CONFORMING FRUIT REMOVED
3
Random Quality Audit
Our family-led Quality Coordinator undertakes random checks across the picking operation — sampling boxes, auditing against the family's standard, ensuring consistency.
PASS TO PROCEED - AUDIT FLAGS TRIGGER RE-INSPECTION
4
Cart-to-Shed Inspection
As grapes are carted to the shed, our cartman undertakes a further inspection on each box before loading. Every transition point is a quality checkpoint overseen by the family.
PASS TO PROCEED - REJECTED BOXES RETURNED
5
Cold Storage Intake
As grapes are loaded into cold storage, our family-managed warehouse team inspects at the point of intake. Temperature, presentation, and condition are all verified.
PASS TO PROCEED - COLD CHAIN INTEGRITY VERIFIED
6
Final Packing Inspection
A final inspection by our family-managed packing team before despatch. The last set of eyes before the Molluso family name goes on the box. If it's not right, it doesn't leave.
PASS TO PROCEED - V&P QUALITY GUARANTEED
